As a result of the impact applied by the current scientific information and technology on contemporary society, the twenty-first century student profile has undergone great changes, which require a lot of attention regarding the teaching-learning process.

 

   In this context, the art of teaching Medicinal Chemistry requires the employment of modern teaching approaches that could provide skills to students so that they would be able to understand drug design strategies, molecular basis of drug action and the reasons why subtle chemical modifications of a particular bioactive compound can cause drastic changes in their biological activity.

 

   The discussion between professors of several centers, institutes and universities could contribute to the development of strategies or approaches that may cause significant changes in the state of the art of teaching medicinal chemistry.
